Key specifications include a current overall length of 388 mm, with potential for reduction; critical dimensions of at least 220 mm and 330 mm; lightweight target of 1–2 kg for stability under adult weight; compact folded size; and easy water washability. Aluminum is the preferred material, but alternative materials are acceptable if they meet requirements and offer cost advantages. The design includes a sliding structure to support toilet paper or wipes with a load capacity of 200–300 grams.
